Facialist Teresa Tarmey Wore Jacquemus For Her London Wedding, Then Threw A Party In Her Local Pub

Teresa Tarmey, by her own admission, operates “at a thousand miles an hour”. “I never gave myself time to properly date, or go online and do the whole thing,” says Teresa, a proud northerner who had been somewhat preoccupied with establishing herself as one of London’s preeminent facialists (a favourite of Kate Moss, Sienna Miller and Julianne Moore, she now has a residency at Claridge’s in addition to her uniquely fabulous Notting Hill flagship). It was the pandemic that finally allowed her to turn her attention to her personal life. “When lockdown happened I was like, oh, okay, I have some time… and then I met Tom.”

Swiping right on Hinge took mere seconds, but Teresa’s first date with graphic designer Tom Delpech – gin and tonics over FaceTime – ended up lasting for hours. As was tradition in that strange time, once restrictions finally eased they met up for a walk in the park, and hit it off so much that they soon became a lockdown bubble. “I knew from the beginning,” she says simply. “It was just really easy – we were like best friends. He is such a sweet guy.”

A little over five years after they first fell for one another, Tom – who now serves as creative director for Teresa’s eponymous skincare brand – proposed on Teresa’s birthday, with his 18-year-old daughter Luna there to share in the moment. “It was a big surprise,” says the bride. “I’d left Tom’s present to open last – he always buys me the Celine perfume that I love, so I thought I knew what it was.” She wasn’t entirely correct: this time Tom had slipped a Haribo ring in alongside her favourite fragrance. “I was like… ‘What?!’” Teresa recalls, laughing. “I was so shocked.” Instead of a new piece of jewellery, Teresa chose to switch a beloved vintage ring that Tom had bought for her in Florence onto her fourth finger once they were engaged.

Her impending big day encouraged the perennially busy bride – used to prioritising the needs of her devoted clientele – to squeeze in some beauty appointments for herself. “I’m usually like, oh, I’ll sort that tomorrow,” says the self-confessed procrastinator, “but, for once, I religiously booked in all of my appointments.” The precise pre-wedding routine of this A-list-approved skincare guru? A four-week course of fractional radio frequency, plus Neogen (“a slightly stronger resurfacing treatment that I’m currently trialling for the clinic”) for the neck and chest, FaceStim, polynucleotides beneath the eyes, and diligent use of her own microneedling kit at home. Weekly lymphatic massages for face and body made perhaps the biggest difference, Teresa says. “I do it every Thursday morning after Pilates, game-changer!”

She fell in love with what would become her wedding dress – an ethereal draped gown from Jacquemus’s spring/summer 2026 Le Paysan collection – after spotting it on Rosalía in her American Vogue cover story. “I went down a rabbit hole of trying to find it,” says the bride. “It’s not strictly a wedding dress, but it feels like it could be one, because of the train. When I tried it on I was just so, so happy. It’s perfect.”

Fittingly, given her connection to the hotel, the bride decided to “do the fancy bits” at Claridge’s, with her good friend, the “super sweet” Mathieu Simo on hair, and Silver Bramham on make-up. “I stayed the night before, and then the bridesmaids – my three nieces, my stepdaughter, my sister and my best friend – came to me in the morning to get ready.” From there, it was on to Marylebone Town Hall for the ceremony, with the bride adding Jimmy Choo shoes with a “teeny weeny” kitten heel, Kismet by Milka jewellery and a necklace “pinched from Caroline Hirons” to her Jacquemus dress. Teresa carried a bouquet of white peonies from north London’s Highgate Flowers.

The couple planned a low-key reception at one of their favourite pubs: the Walmer Castle in Notting Hill, just a 10-minute stroll from Teresa’s Kensington Park Road HQ. “Lovely Marco Capaldo of 16Arlington is a friend of mine,” says the bride, who turned to the designer for a more fitted alternative to the drama and drapery of her Jacquemus dress for the pub. At almost 50, Teresa delighted in defying any assumptions around her bridal look. “I felt like everyone was asking me, ‘Are you wearing a suit?’ And I was like, ‘No, I wear a suit every day for work. I’m wearing a dress – in fact, I’m wearing two!”

In place of a sit-down meal, Teresa and Tom laid on chic canapés, followed by a spread of mini burgers, cheese toasties and croque monsieurs for later, with a steady supply of margaritas and a spectacular cake by Claire Ptak, of Violet Bakery (and Meghan and Harry’s wedding) fame. “I always think it’s nice to do things that fit in with who I am,” the bride says of the couple’s relaxed and joyful celebrations. “Claridge’s is where I have my residency, and Notting Hill is where my clinic is, so it’s where I spend my life! We love the Walmer Castle to have a drink in, or Tom and I will often have dinner there. Really, I just wanted to hang out with everyone and have fun.”

Make-up artist Silver Bramham is a friend of more than 15 years. She made the whole getting ready experience super calm.

My hairdresser had surprised me, shouting my name from the floor above.

Heading to the Painter’s Room for a sneaky glass of Champagne to calm the nerves.

Living the dream!

We had a giggle. I was joking that I wouldn’t let the bridesmaids have a picture.

Left to right: My niece Olivia Tarmey, my sister Debbie Tarmey, great-niece Roper Steed, stepdaughter Luna Delpech, niece Stevie Steed and my best friend Bryony Raisey, my maid of honour.

We flagged down black cabs to get to the ceremony for speed and ease.

My 80-year-old dad, Albert, who weirdly still has naturally brown hair. We’re waiting to speak to the registrar here.

Just married!

Newlyweds Tom and Teresa.

The iconic steps! I could only have dreamed of this as a teenager.

Wearing my second dress, by 16Arlington.

I wanted to be really comfortable, in something a little more fitted.
