What is the Dermalux LED Face Mask?
The Dermalux LED Face Mask is an at-home LED phototherapy device designed to support healthier, visibly rejuvenated skin.
It combines three clinically proven wavelengths — Red 633nm, Near Infrared 830nm and Deep Near Infrared 1072nm — in one simple 10-minute treatment.
At Teresa Tarmey, we use Dermalux LED technology in clinic because we know that consistency matters when it comes to skin health. The Face Mask allows you to continue that approach at home.
How often should I use the Dermalux LED Face Mask?
Every day.
The treatment takes just 10 minutes, making it easy to build into your routine. LED phototherapy is cumulative, so consistency is key. One treatment is not going to transform your skin overnight — regular use is what supports visible, progressive results.
How long does a treatment take?
Just 10 minutes.
The Dermalux LED Face Mask has been designed so that all three wavelengths are delivered together in one expertly optimised treatment. There is no need to select different settings or programmes.
What does LED do for the skin?
LED phototherapy uses specific wavelengths of light to support the skin at different levels.
Red 633nm helps support visible skin rejuvenation, including the appearance of fine lines and uneven skin tone.
Near Infrared 830nm penetrates deeper to support skin repair and renewal and help reduce the appearance of redness.
Deep Near Infrared 1072nm works at an even deeper level to support the skin's natural repair processes.
Together, the three wavelengths provide a complete treatment focused on skin health and rejuvenation.
Why doesn't the Dermalux LED Face Mask use Blue Light?
This mask has been designed specifically for skin rejuvenation rather than the treatment of acne.
Blue 415nm is used in other Dermalux devices and is specifically associated with acne treatment. The Face Mask instead combines Red, Near Infrared and Deep Near Infrared wavelengths to support healthier, visibly rejuvenated skin.
If active acne is your primary concern, we recommend speaking to us about the most appropriate treatment for your skin.
Can I use the Dermalux LED Face Mask if I have blemish-prone skin?
Yes. The mask can be used on blemish-prone skin, but it is important to understand what it is designed to do.
The Dermalux LED Face Mask is primarily a skin rejuvenation device and does not contain Blue Light, which is used in Dermalux devices specifically for acne.
If breakouts are your main concern, we recommend professional advice before choosing your treatment.
When will I see results?
This is not an overnight treatment.
LED phototherapy works cumulatively, so results develop progressively with consistent use. How quickly you notice a difference will depend on your skin, your concerns and how consistently you use the mask.
Our advice is simple: make your 10 minutes count and make it part of your routine.
Can I use my skincare products with the mask?
For the best light delivery, use the mask on clean, dry skin, free from makeup, SPF and skincare products.
Once your treatment is complete, continue with your normal skincare routine.
At Teresa Tarmey, we always recommend following the correct order of Cleanse, Treat, Hydrate, Protect — LED sits within the Treat stage.
Should I exfoliate before using the mask?
You can gently exfoliate once or twice a week to help remove dead skin cells and surface impurities.
However, do not exfoliate immediately before using the mask if your skin feels sensitive.
As always, listen to your skin. More is not always more.
Does the treatment hurt?
No. LED phototherapy is non-invasive and comfortable.
You may feel a gentle warmth during treatment, but the mask does not use UV light.
Do I need to wear eye protection?
Follow the eye-protection guidance supplied with your Dermalux LED Face Mask and use the device as directed.
If you have any concerns about light sensitivity or your eyes, speak to a medical professional before use.
Can I use the Dermalux LED Face Mask alongside other treatments?
LED is often used as part of a wider skin treatment plan, but the timing will depend on the treatment you have had.
If you are having professional treatments such as laser, peels, microneedling or other aesthetic procedures, always follow your practitioner's advice about when to use LED.
If you are a Teresa Tarmey client, speak to the team and we can advise based on your treatment plan.
Is the Dermalux LED Face Mask suitable for sensitive skin?
LED is a gentle, non-invasive treatment and can be incorporated into many skincare routines.
However, certain medical conditions, medications and circumstances can make LED unsuitable. Always check the manufacturer's contraindications before use and seek medical advice if you are unsure.
If your skin is currently compromised, inflamed or undergoing treatment, speak to a professional before introducing LED.
Can I use the mask every day?
Yes. The recommended routine is one 10-minute treatment every day.
The key is consistency. LED is not about doing a longer treatment occasionally; it is about regular exposure over time.
What makes the Dermalux LED Face Mask different?
Dermalux has over a decade of professional LED phototherapy experience and the Face Mask brings that expertise into an at-home device.
The mask combines three clinically proven wavelengths with Dermalux Off-the-Skin Technology™ to deliver light efficiently and evenly across the face.
It has also been designed and tested using medical device standards.
For us, the biggest benefit is simplicity: 10 minutes, every day, as part of your existing routine.
How should I use the Dermalux LED Face Mask?
Start with clean, dry skin.
- Cleanse your skin thoroughly and remove all skincare, SPF and makeup.
- Position the mask comfortably over your face.
- Complete the 10-minute treatment.
- Once finished, continue with your usual skincare routine.
For best results, use once daily and stay consistent.
How should I store the mask?
Store the mask in the protective case provided when it is not in use, particularly when travelling.
Always follow the manufacturer's care and storage instructions.
Is there anything I should know before using the mask?
Yes. LED is not suitable for everyone.
Always read the manufacturer's instructions and contraindications before your first treatment. Certain medications, medical conditions and circumstances can affect whether LED is appropriate for you.
If you are pregnant, taking medication that causes photosensitivity, have a light-sensitive condition or are unsure whether LED is suitable for you, seek medical advice before use.
If in doubt, ask.
What is the warranty?
The Dermalux LED Face Mask comes with a 2-year warranty. Please follow the manufacturer's instructions for registering your device and activating the warranty.

For me, it's how effectively that light is actually reaching the skin
“There are so many LED masks now that I think it's become really difficult for people to know what's worth investing in. For me, it's about the technology, the wavelengths and how effectively that light is actually reaching the skin. I know and trust Dermalux professionally, so this is one partnership I didn't have to think twice about.”
